My most common feedback after a workshop is ‘I haven’t written so much in years’. My aim is to help you find fresh, expansive ways into the subjects you want to write about, and to lead your writing into new, unexpected and exciting places.

We might begin with a theme, or with a small and specific detail. A line from a poem, a postcard, a note in your phone, a scene from a movie, a fleeting idea or memory you haven’t found the words for yet. There’s no pressure or expectation. Just lots of prompts to get you writing, tips for going back to your drafts at a later stage, and the opportunity to experience the many different routes your words might take you.

I have facilitated workshops in collaboration with Turner Contemporary,  Cambridge University Botanic Garden, London College of Fashion, University of the Arts, Deptford Literature Festival and a range of corporate institutions looking for ways to tell and deliver their stories. I have also facilitated workshops at saunas, in pub gardens, on the rooftops of co-working spaces, around kitchen tables, and have delivered CPD sessions in a variety of contexts.

UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

  • “Caroline’s workshop gave me insight into my pain, in a way that I had never thought of before. All the heaviness, negativity, judgement, and shame I usually feel around my relationship with food was met with playfulness, curiosity and humour. Not only did I learn that my default pattern is survival... I learnt that I can love this part about myself too.”

    — Kendal, Writing Pain workshop

  • “Working with Caroline has always been a pure joy, and her classes have consistently been the most popular both in attendance and student ratings. Caroline is not only a very talented writer, but also a great teacher and facilitator!”

    — Mara, University of the Arts London

  • “Caroline was an excellent tutor and guide. She held the (quite large) group expertly in a very large room, encouraging beginners and old hands alike. Everyone was writing, and nearly everyone felt comfortable sharing their work. I’d definitely attend again in the future.”

    — Anonymous, Salt in the Wound at Turner Contemporary

  • “Caroline is a gifted poet and workshop leader. Her enthusiasm for the creative writing process, and her preparedness with poetic examples and prompts makes for really productive and enjoyable sessions.”

    — Mary, poetry workshop

  • “I never really get on board with this kinda stuff being neurodivergent, I find it so difficult. But something really really shifted for me. I can’t believe the impact it had.”
