A writer and facilitator. A curious, sensitive, tender being. A deep thinker, feeler and mover.
My writing spans across genres: poetry, short fiction, narrative non-fiction and personal essays. And I help other people to write too. Whether you’re 5 or 95, I facilitate spaces to share your stories, to write, connect and discover common ground in some of the most unlikely places.
My path to a career as a writer and teacher was meandering. I studied fashion, had a short-lived career in fashion film, a slightly longer career as a yoga and movement practitioner, before coming back to my ten-year-old self who wrote countless books, sent a self-recorded audiobook to an agent in the US, and wrote reams of poetry on almost every subject imaginable. What links all these things, I’ve realised over time, is my desire to communicate. Whether through clothes, the moving image, the body, or through writing, I am continuously creating channels of communication.
Writing returned to me in a time of crisis. During my twenties I developed a chronic illness and lost my father and brother in close succession. My writing practice continues to show me that from the depths of grief, a creative seed can take root and grow. It is my way of seeing, processing, questioning and connecting with the world.
I’m always learning.
A pen, a notebook, and the willingness to meet myself on the page have been my greatest teachers.
Alongside what I’ve learned through experience, there have also been some more formal steps and important facilitators and peers that have shaped the way I work.

Deep thanks to my poetry & playwriting mentor Caroline Bird and the Arts Council England for their funding and support, enabling me to work on a debut poetry collection under her mentorship.
My biggest respect and gratitude to my chronically ill creative friends, who have taught me the most about resilience, community and the importance of our voices being heard.
